GRADS-4C “Pangenomes: Considering Genome Diversity across a Species” Workshop

Date:
01/31/2025
Time:
12:00 PM - 01:00 PM
Where:
Virtual
Details:

Pangenomics explores the full genetic diversity of a species, beyond just one reference genome. By uncovering hidden variations, it transforms our understanding of evolution, disease, and biodiversity—revolutionizing medicine, agriculture, and conservation.

On Jan. 31 from noon to 1 p.m., Joann Mudge, Ph.D., principal research scientist and director of Outreach and Education at the National Center for Genome Resources, will explore key biological questions and challenges that pangenome approaches help address, and introduce a new pangenomics tools to help assist biologists in linking novel genome sequences to gene expression, climate data and other relevant data types.
