The mission of Campus Recreation is to provide a broad and diversified program of sports and activities that meet the needs and interests of the entire campus community. These activities are organized and administered in a manner that is intended to provide a recreational break from academic pursuits, improve physical health, and develop skills and interests that contribute to healthy lifestyles. The greatest opportunity lies in fostering personal growth through competition, self-testing, and teamwork that is found in participating in recreational sports.

Campus Recreation Center Membership for Faculty & Staff

Join us at Campus Recreation Center! The membership fee will be $10 per month via payroll deduction. All faculty and staff currently employed by the university are encouraged to join the CRC!

Miles for Wellness Challenge 31: Bee All You Can Bee

We invite all faculty and staff to join the Miles for Wellness Challenge 31, a fun, virtual, team-based walking initiative for North Carolina state employees. The goal is to help you increase physical activity by aiming for 10,000 steps or 5 miles most days of the week. This challenge can boost your health by improving cardiovascular fitness, reducing the risk of chronic diseases, enhancing mood, and increasing longevity. Teams of up to 10 people can participate in categories like tortoise, hare, and bionic hare, with weekly step totals added to a virtual map.

Registration for Miles for Wellness Challenge 31 will begin Monday, February 10 and close the day the challenge begins. Challenge 31 will run Monday, March 10 through Sunday, May 4.
