At North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, we believe that "Aggie Pride" includes the commitment to preparing our students to excel in a world by learning to be global citizens, doing their part to steward the earth's resources, improve the quality of human lives, and be proactive contributors to the search for justice and equality.

OIA fosters campus internationalization and serve as a central support, advisory, and information center for all students, faculty, and staff in the following areas: 

OIA offers immigration assistance for the NSU community and serves as a liaison between our office and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in matters related to international students and scholars studying and working here. Our goal is to provide you with great service and for you to have an overall remarkable experience. Our office also provides support services and events such as international student orientation, international education week, networking events, and more. Click "International Students" for more information.

OIA supports all NCAT students who are interested in studying, interning, volunteering, and/or shadowing abroad. Click "Study Abroad" for more information.

OIA provides assistance with preparing all University faculty, staff, students, and authorized volunteers of the University for international travel that is University-sponsored or University-related.  Click the "International Travel" link for more information related to the University's Travel Policy.

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) invites faculty and staff to complete training for the new OIA Travel Portal also known as the Travel Registry. All international travel must be completed and approved in the new portal.

A Seat at The Table: Study Abroad Pre-Departure Orientation

The Office of International affairs will host mandatory Pre-Departure events to help you prepare for your experience abroad. At the Orientation, student attendees will receive information on saving money to health & safety while abroad. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and connect with other students traveling to their region, and talk through next steps with their study abroad advisor.

 

Education abroad is one of the most challenging, exciting, and rewarding experiences that you can have during your college career. An international experience requires planning and preparation.  The OIA study abroad staff and your program provider adviser will help you prepare for your experience abroad, take time during your pre-departure planning to learn about your host country. Preparation is key to a successful experience abroad.

All study abroad accepted programs for the Spring/Summer 2025 semester, students are required to attend the Pre-Departure orientation which will be in-person on Friday November 8, 2024 from 11am-1pm in Student Center 3rd floor Room 342.
