The F.D. Bluford Library serves more than just the faculty, staff, and students of the University. Here are the borrowing privileges we extend to others in our community and region.
The following groups of people may apply for a Special Borrower library card:
- Members of the Board of Trustees
- Members of the Board of Visitors
- Retired University faculty and staff
- Public school teachers in Guilford County
- Applicants must apply to the Head of Public Services or other delegates with the presentation of satisfactory identification (current address, telephone number, driver's license and employment verification).
Students who are currently enrolled in, and in good standing with Bennett College, Greensboro College, Guilford College, Guilford Technical Community College, or the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and are cross-registered at North Carolina A&T State University may be granted borrowing privileges upon verification of enrollment together with an identification card from their home institution.
Member libraries of the Triad Academic Library Association have a borrowing agreement. See our page on the agreement for more details.
Students, faculty, and staff from other colleges and community colleges in Greensboro may borrow books upon verification of enrollment at their own institutions and with proper identification. Each loan is valid for a one-time only use and is subject to overdue fines and the rules and regulations of the F.D. Bluford Library.
Students enrolled in the Early College Program must present valid University identification at the Circulation Desk before checking out items. The checkout limit is a maximum of 10 books at a time.
Middle College students may only use books in the Library, no checkouts are allowed.
Secondary school students may use materials in the Library.
Citizens in the community who are not enrolled in secondary school, college, or university and who have needs for materials unavailable through the services of the Greensboro Public Library should request a written referral from a librarian at one of the Public Library's locations in order to borrow material at the Bluford Library.
