State Grants For North Carolina Residents
North Carolina A&T students who are North Carolina residents are eligible for grants through the state. To apply, a student must complete a FAFSA. North Carolina does not have a deadline date to apply, however you are encouraged to apply early for best consideration of funding.
- The North Carolina Scholarship works with federal aid to provide a guaranteed amount of financial assistance with additional state funding provided to students with exceptional need.
- A State Grant is awarded to North Carolina residents with demonstrated financial need. The award amount varies per academic year. Awards are limited and based on funding availability.
- Campus-Based Funds are awarded to students with financial need. The amount varies for the academic year.

State Grants For Out-of-State Residents
The DC Tuition Assistance Grant expands higher education choices for college-bound Washington DC residents by providing grants of up to $10,000 toward the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition at public four-year colleges and universities throughout the U.S., Guam and Puerto Rico.
The DC College Access Program is a "last dollar award" for up to $2,000 per year for five years. The awards are based on unmet need and are designed to close the financial need gap between the student's resources, financial aid and the actual college expenses.
Maryland Higher Education Commission is the coordinating board responsible for administering state financial aid programs for residents of Maryland.
