Student-Athlete Academic Enhancement Program (SAAEP)
Target Population: All roster-certified student-athletes
Requirements for Participation: Must be an official roster member of a North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University team sport, and be NCAA Clearinghouse eligible.
Mission
The mission of the Student-Athlete Academic Enhancement Program (SAAEP), a component of the Center for Academic Excellence, provides comprehensive progressive services and resources to student-athletes through academic monitoring, intrusive academic advisement, study hour coordination, and tutorial assistance.
Objective
- Encourage intellectual, social, professional and personal development and accountability of student-athletes by creating a peer supported environment.
- Institute meaningful, effective, and lasting student-advisor connections that promote successful transition, progression, and matriculation.
- Increase retention and graduation rates among student athletes.
- Foster an institutional climate and facilitate an in-depth dialogue with faculty/staff supportive of addressing the specialized needs of student-athletes.
- Inform student athletes of University policies, NCAA progress toward degree, academic eligibility standards, and successful APR scores in collaboration with campus community.
Hours of Operation: Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. & Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
