Dean's Letter
Welcome to the College of Engineering at North Carolina Agriculturaland Technical State University. We are proud of the quality of the educational experiences and research leadership within our college. Our mission guides us as we seek to inspire future leaders ready to change the diversity and dynamics of engineering fields with novel innovations and solutions. We are proud of our engineering students, faculty, staff and alumni who represent the essence of engineering Aggie Pride!
As we continue on our trajectory of excellence, we invite you to go beyond our website to learn more about us. Our bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs are distributed across seven departments – Chemical Biological and Bio Engineering; Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical and Computer Engineering; Industrial and Systems Engineering; and Mechanical Engineering – as well as the interdisciplinary Computational Data Science and Engineering department. We offer 11 BS degree, nine MS degree, and five Ph.D. degree engineering programs. We provide a rich tradition of preparing strong engineers and computer scientists, where the vibrancy of our environment is key to this success. Our faculty and students conduct pioneering research focused on creating globally-relevant solutions and on providing advanced systems and products for improving quality of life.
Our students are equipped for the workforce because they have ample opportunities to put their learning to practice by doing – as student researchers, as grand challenge engineers, as competitors in regional and national challenges; through internships and co-ops, and by engaging with our strong student organizations. We are particularly proud of being the home of cutting-edge research and training centers, undergraduate and graduate research experiences, and leadership in numerous grants with federal, industrial and foundation funding. Our research capabilities in healthcare applications, transportation, autonomy, sustainability and cybersecurity expand the possibilities of what can be achieved when talented minds engage in multidisciplinary collaborative research. Together, our college’s educational and research endeavors result in a College of Engineering with an enrollment of over 2,300 undergraduate and graduate students.
This is a wonderful time to be a part of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s College of Engineering. We encourage you to learn more about us and invite you to visit our campus to see first-hand what sets us apart in academics, innovation, and research.
Aggie Pride!
