N.C. A&T Encourages Compliance with ‘Three Ws’ as School Year Begins

EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Aug. 19, 2020) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University leaders are asking students and employees to double down on the three Ws – washing hands, waiting while socially distanced and wearing face masks – to keep campus healthy as in person and online instruction begins with the launch of the school year today.

The university has acquired mass quantities of masks and sanitizing supplies, posted signage supporting social distancing and reduced class seating, and installed sanitizing stations across campus as part of its coronavirus prevention efforts.

“We’ve been thorough in our preparations, and now we’re counting on our campus community to be just as diligent in their adherence to our protocols and guidance,” said Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. “We will only be able to keep our campus safe and healthy with everyone’s cooperation and participation. And I have no doubt that each Aggie will do their part.” 

To track the presence of coronavirus on campus, a new online public dashboard launches today. Dashboard: Coronavirus Positive Tests (https://www.ncat.edu/coronavirus/confirmed-cases.php) reports the number of positive tests reported to the A&T Student Health Center among employees and students. In separate columns, it provides numeric details on how many in each category have tested positive in the past two weeks and how many have tested positive overall since July 1.

Students who test positive may return home or quarantine in a special residence hall set aside for student isolation. Employees who test positive will spend their two-week quarantine period at home, and if not manifesting COVID-19 symptoms, will be allowed to return to work.
