Garnering more than 1,000 virtual registrants, the first Chancellor’s Speaker Series of the spring semester at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University didn’t disappoint. The conversation, focusing on “Building Black Wealth,” was held Feb. 17 and featured global finance expert Mellody Hobson. A replay of the conversation is available online. 

Speaker Series at N.C. A&T to Feature Veteran CNN Anchor Discussing Power of Privilege

The Chancellor’s Speaker Series at N.C. A&T will hold its first of a three-part series for the semester. The initial conversation, “The Power of Privilege,” will feature veteran news anchor and correspondent, Don Lemon, moderated by alumna and sociologist, Destiny-Simone Ramjohn, Ph.D. The virtual event will take place, Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, at 6 p.m., via ncatchancellorsspeakerseries.com.

From the moment Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. took the stage at Harrison Auditorium for the Chancellor’s Speaker Series, “Love the Skin You’re In,” Oct. 3, student engagement was intense and consuming. From Martin’s comments regarding his experiences dealing with the effects of colorism to the daily experiences of guest panelists Laverne Cox, Shaun Ross and Amber Riley, the conversation was informative and transformational.
