A new mandate is emerging in leadership and leadership education that calls for colleges and universities to embed equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging, social justice, resilience and emotional intelligence into learning. This call is especially important for students in graduate and professional school settings, where new and emerging leaders traverse their career and move closer to high-ranking leadership positions in organizations with employees from different backgrounds.
“To understand how to move forward within the current leadership theory, research and practice contexts, we must also understand how leadership moral identity, moral courage and ethics interact with research and practice,” said Karen T. Jackson, Ph.D., assistant professor of leadership studies. “In this leadership seminar series, alumni leaders from the leadership studies doctoral program will share their experiences in leading organizations and performing research in different areas of ethical leadership, decision-making and designing research.”
