Students, Faculty & Staff,
With weather conditions improving across the Piedmont Triad, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will return to normal operations Monday morning at 8 a.m., discontinuing Condition 1, which has been in effect since noon Friday. Please take a moment to read the important information below:
- All residential hall move-in for returning and new students has been moved to Monday. Housing and Residence Life will open at 9 a.m. to welcome students to their campus homes.
- All classes are canceled Monday, including day, evening, in-person and online classes, to allow the more than 6,000 students who live in A&T residence halls and properties sufficient time to move in and get settled. Spring semester classes begin on Tuesday, and New Student Orientation also will be held Tuesday.
- Faculty are reminded that new students may still be managing semester readiness tasks on Tuesday and may have difficulty attending classes. All students should consult and follow the attendance protocols outlined in their course syllabi in Blackboard.
All who will be on campus Monday are strongly encouraged to take special care as they drive and walk. While snow is melting, ice persists in many places. Depending on tonight’s conditions, melted snow and ice may refreeze overnight and create risks. Be mindful at intersections of any icy conditions that may affect coming to a stop and median barriers or speed bumps that may be hidden by snow. By exercising care and moving cautiously, we will avoid slip-and-fall injuries and car accidents.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we have dealt with the challenges of winter weather and wish you all the best as we now begin the new semester.
